Passkey support
As an Aiven user, I would like to be able to authenticate to the platform with passkeys (i.e. webauthn). This is more convenient and secure than a password. Ideally, I would be able to remove password authentication from my account if I enable or sign up with a passkey.

Allow multiple 2FA devices
As a user with multiple devices, I would like to be able to add additional 2FA devices to my authentication profile. Currently, if I want to add a new device, I have to disable 2FA, and then enable it again on every device with the new token key, and re-issue my tokens.

Restrict user sign-in domains to my verified domains
As an Aiven customer with a verified domain, I would like the option to restrict the list of domain names in the email addresses users can use to sign into my account. Particularly, I'd like to prevent users from domains I don't control from being invited to my account. Ideally, I could specify a list of allowed email domains, or at least restrict sign-in to my verified domains. Users with email addresses with domain names not in the list should be denied access.

Disable self-service password reset for users in my verified domain
As an Aiven customer with a verified domain, and therefore the ability to reset my users' credentials, I would like to be able to disable self-service password reset for my users. This is to support internal policies that users' passwords can only be reset by our helpdesk.

2FA Recovery Codes
As an Aiven user depending on platform authentication and using 2FA to improve account security, I would prefer to be able to reset 2FA by the use of recovery codes; simultaneously, I would prefer that resetting my password via email password reset not clear my 2FA settings.

Improve visibility on maintenance updates
As a user, I would like to have more granular details on what is included in updates and get an estimation on how long the maintenance period would be on my service and what would be the impact, if any temporary scale up of service is required during maintenance update

ability to update opensearch default row count

Multi-region VPC
As an Aiven user,
I want to ease the setup of my multi-region infrastructure by creating a single VPC peering for several regions
so that I can avoid creating a several peerings when I'm deploying multi-region services.
This would also solve the VPC quota issue that we can encounter on GCP (25 peerings max per VPC)41 votesWe have this on the roadmap for GCP

VPC connection configuration at Organization level
Due to some limitations on the number of peerings supported by some cloud provider, for an organization with numerous applications and many potential projects associated with each, one option around it would be to configure Aiven VPC at Organizational level.

Self-service move to marketplace billing
As an existing Aiven customer
I want to pay via a marketplace subscription
so that I can recognise spend against my hyperscaler commitment and simplify my procurement processes
In addition, this is currently a manual process and involves coordinating steps between the customer, Aiven Sales team, and Aiven Ops team. I would like to self-serve this capability.2 votesWe are working on making the Marketplaces payment methods in the Aiven tenant rather than being separate tenants!

Improve API documentation
As an API developer I need to understand the error codes and details of the API so that I can integrate and handle errors thrown by the API elegantly.
The gaps are most notably:
* HTTP status codes explanation
* lack of standardized error codes (example: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/ErrorResponses.html)
* very little or no explanation (example: https://api.aiven.io/doc/#tag/Service/operation/ListProjectServiceTypes)9 votes -
LTS editions
As a product owner of Aiven services
I want to be able to select Long term support versions of the Aiven products
so that I can have the upgrade cycles match those of my other products without having to request exceptions when End of life warnings start appearing
In addition, I'd like to be able to made aware of any maintainence done to my clusters if they are in anyway destructive.6 votesAlthough this sounds reasonable in practice and many Linux distributions follow this, the projects we run at Aiven do not. So we are unable to build secured versions of open-source projects for long-term support. This would require an immense amount of engineering to maintain legacy versions of these 11 open-source projects. We also run Linux infrastructure, which is not part of the LTS model, so this would be yet another issue with the idea of LTS. If you'd like to discuss more, I am happy to speak with you.

Web Console w/ Service connectivity
As developer,
I would like to access a web console that would provide audited access to services, such as a psql shell, and be able to run PostgreSQL commands. For example, we'd like to interact with the database to resolve the following error without needing psql installed locally or network connectivity from our laptop. https://docs.aiven.io/docs/products/kafka/kafka-connect/howto/debezium-source-connector-pg#solve-the-error-must-be-superuser-to-create-for-all-tables-publication
In addition, this would be especially useful for services which have been secured, like custom PCI-DSS environments.
