2. How to use it
Create and submit an idea
- Navigate to the Aiven Ideas homepage.
- Select the forum for the product area of your interest.
- Start typing keywords for your idea into the What’s on your mind field.
- Select a category for your idea from the Category dropdown menu.
- Use the template provided to describe your idea as accurately as possible. Fill in the placeholders as instructed.
- Upload any relevant files using the Drop or click to upload files option.
- Select Post idea.
Once you submit your idea, you'll receive a notification. Our Product Management team reviews and validates all submissions within two weeks. Refer to the Idea Management lifecycle in the Overview section for further steps regarding your idea.
Vote on and rank ideas
Voting helps us prioritize ideas.
- Navigate to the Aiven Ideas homepage.
- Select the forum for the product area of your interest.
- Browse through the ideas listed in the forum.
- If you find an idea you like or feel is important, select Vote next to it.
The rank of an idea is determined by the number of votes it has received from the community.
Comment on ideas
Contributing to the discussion around an idea can provide more context and help refine it:
- Navigate to the Aiven Ideas homepage.
- Select the forum for the product area of your interest.
- Select an idea from the list.
- Scroll down to the comments section and write your thoughts.
- Select Post Comment to share your input with the community.
Remember, constructive feedback and respectful discourse are key to a productive conversation.
View Public Roadmap
Get a clear view of our strategic plans by viewing our Public Roadmap. It showcases features or improvements at various stages, whether in planning, development or already delivered.
To view the roadmap, navigate to Aiven's Public Roadmap. Use the product area drop-down on the top right corner to narrow the road-mapped features based on your desired product area.
Give feedback and follow features in Public Roadmap
- Navigate to Aiven's Public Roadmap.
- Select a feature of your interest.
- In the popup window, you can choose to keep track of the feature's progress by selecting Follow.
- Additionally, contribute by sharing your insights or suggestions. In the same popup window, select Give Feedback to provide your input.
By following and giving feedback on features, you actively engage in Aiven’s product development process, helping to shape and improve the services.
