Issues Configuring AWS IAM Principles with Dynamic AWS Accounts for aiven-private link
As Aiven customer,
We are experiencing difficulties configuring the IAM principles while setting up Aiven private link services due to the dynamic nature of our AWS accounts. Specifically, we would like to know if it's possible to use a wildcard (*) in place of specifying individual AWS account IDs, as managing the access control for multiple dynamic accounts is becoming complex.3 votes -
Setting for additional storage should be taken over when forking some service
As Head of SRE & Cloud Technology
I want that the setting for additional storage is taken over when you fork some service
so that I can fork instances without having the base backup failing because of missing storage.Use case:
we forked on our postgres services and during the build of the new instance it just complaint about full disk because the setting for additional storage was just not taken over. because there was no backup yet, we were also not able to add storage "on the fly". So we had to delete the service and start again.4 votes -

Global uniqueness requirement for project name results in frustrating UX
As a user
I want to create new projects
so that I can organize my servicesCurrently, the Aiven platform requires the project name to be unique across the entire Aiven platform and all its users. This can lead to an extremely frustrating user experience because the user has no clue what would project name might not have already been taken.
Project names should simply be unique per organization, at least as perceived by the user. Namespacing projects to the organization would be the obvious solution but another option might be to have separate project names and project IDs. The…

Improve UX of autoscaling configuration
As an operator or developer
I want to easily configure my service to autoscale
so that I can not worry about outages or failures if data volume spikes.Currently, in order to configure autoscaling for a service, one needs to go to Integration Endpoints at the project level, create an Aiven Autoscaler Integration Endpoint, then go to the service where I want to define autoscaling, go to Integrations, choose Aiven Autoscaler under Endpoint Integrations, then select the instance of the Aiven Autoscaler I just created.
Maybe this aligns on the back end for how autoscaling a service works but it's…

AIRFLOW
As Senior Data Engineer
I want to be able to orchestrate data flows (DAGS)
so that I can remove the dependency on dbt cloud and other separate tools that we currently run
In addition, dbt cloud is putting the price up making it prohibitory expensive and therefore we need a way to run dbt core and other things to make our data flow.2 votes -

Disk autoscalers should have configurable threshold
As Head of SRE & Cloud Technology
I want to have configurable thresholds
so that I can configure when new storage will be added to the database
In addition, this request is mainly because we partially have big databases with X TB of storage. If you have a database with e.g. 4 TB of storage, the current threshold of 85% is at 3.4 TB. So you are paying 600GB of storage without actually using them.I totally understand that this threshold makes sense for smaller databases. But with a certain size, it's too expensive.

Separate Version Hold vs Maintenance Hold
As a customer, I want to ensure that my version of service is not auto-incremented on the Major.Minor release number as I have client code that connects to it. Thus, there needs to be a separate of maintenance and version upgrade that is separate. I still want maintenance to occur on my account (i.e. patching for security), yet I need the service version to remain the same.

Allow for greater maintenance schedule flexibility.
Allow for greater maintenance schedule flexibility.
As a customer, I want to schedule maintenance to my services with a fixed calendar schedule rather then a weekly schedule. This is because I am required to only apply maintenance to my systems based on contracted schedules with my end customers. For example, I want to be able to schedule maintenance to occur on the 20th of each month. Or every 3rd Friday of the month between a certain window of time.
