Move services between projects
As an Aiven user
I want to move individual services from one project to another within Aiven
so that I can transfer specific services without affecting other services within the same project.1 vote -
Overview of services near version EOL
There is a need for retrieving a list of services at all kind getting near to the end of life of the version in the console as well with the CLI
Ideally with a configurable value for the time between alert and actual EOL date.
That would be very valuable for mid term upgrade planning effort of customers

JMX Metrics for OpenSearch
As an SRE
I want to be able to monitor the JMX metrics from my OpenSearch Cluster
so that I can ensure my cluster is Healthy.
In addition, it would be nice to consume these with Dynatrace. I see there is a Jolokia option for Kafka only.1 vote -
Ability to reduce plan storage below the default
As an Aiven User
I want to lower the service storage to a value below the plan default
so that I can better adapt my resource utilisation to my workload for services that don't require as much storage25 votes -
Smarter alerts
Warning and critical alerts are fairly basic, for instance sending a Critical alert when disk usage is above 80%.
If the service has several TB of diskspace, and a growth of 1% per month, such an alert might be many months or even years premature.As an service operator I want alerts to incorporate trend-based predictions to avoid unnecessary “Critical” alerts while still sending an alert if usage suddenly spikes.

Support for Local Zones and AWS Outposts
As obligated by compliance requirements
I want to be able to deploy services in AWS Local Zones and AWS Outposts
so that I can use Aiven Services while meeting my obligations around data residency.
In addition, I recognize that would affect the SLA of those services.2 votes -
Provide link for Aiven changelog updates
As a user of the Aiven Services,
I want to be able to share specific changelog updates with my colleagues instead of just linking the changelog page itself and letting them find the update I was mentioning.1 vote -
Self-service Custom Plans
As a cloud engineer, I want to be able to specify the Aiven plan to my specifications, including the specific instance type, sizing, and other aspects relevant to the cloud I am running on so that I can optimize my spend and commitments with the cloud provider In addition, to meeting commitments I have made to the cloud provider.
Ideally, turnaround would be much faster than today, where I typically wait 1 week or more to get a custom plan implemented.

Email alerts and notifications
As DBA I want:
To control which alert emails I want to receive (high CPU usage, many shards per GB, tables without primary keys, etc) per project;
To have an email subject with the alert type instead of the generic name;
To be able to set different thresholds of the alerts (ex: CPU higher than X%);
Set a Snooze/outage window for a specific period;
Have a status page with all the alerts and each status (OK, NOK, etc...).7 votes -
AIRFLOW
As Senior Data Engineer
I want to be able to orchestrate data flows (DAGS)
so that I can remove the dependency on dbt cloud and other separate tools that we currently run
In addition, dbt cloud is putting the price up making it prohibitory expensive and therefore we need a way to run dbt core and other things to make our data flow.2 votes -
Control peering configuration like `allow_forwarded_traffic` in `aiven_azure_vpc_peering_connection` terraform resource
As a software engineer who often does infra stuff, I want to fully configure our Aiven vnet peering on Azure using terraform, so that we don't loose knowledge of how our infrastructure is configured and so that we can always tear it down and re-create it.
Primarily I'm interested in
allow_forwarded_traffic
but I think ideally exposing all of the following Azure configurations through theaiven_azure_vpc_peering_connection
terraform resource would be ideal.
allow_virtual_network_access
allow_forwarded_traffic
allow_gateway_transit
use_remote_gateways
https://registry.terraform.io/providers/hashicorp/azurerm/latest/docs/resources/virtual_network_peering#allow_virtual_network_access3 votesTerraform support should be part of our work to enable peering for the new Org Level VPCs on our roadmap.

Point in Time Recovery in a Secondary Backup Region
As a database administrator
I want to designate a secondary region where service backups will be replicated to (BTAR) and perform a point in time recovery (PITR) within that region

Disk autoscalers should have configurable threshold
As Head of SRE & Cloud Technology
I want to have configurable thresholds
so that I can configure when new storage will be added to the database
In addition, this request is mainly because we partially have big databases with X TB of storage. If you have a database with e.g. 4 TB of storage, the current threshold of 85% is at 3.4 TB. So you are paying 600GB of storage without actually using them.I totally understand that this threshold makes sense for smaller databases. But with a certain size, it's too expensive.

Syncing Users and User Groups from Azure AD via SCIM
As an IT Administrator I want to automate the on and off-boarding of users and manage their lifecycle in Azure AD.
SCIM allows an IT Administrator to provision users and groups automatically to Aiven and keeps them in sync with the identity provider.

Allow for greater maintenance schedule flexibility.
Allow for greater maintenance schedule flexibility.
As a customer, I want to schedule maintenance to my services with a fixed calendar schedule rather then a weekly schedule. This is because I am required to only apply maintenance to my systems based on contracted schedules with my end customers. For example, I want to be able to schedule maintenance to occur on the 20th of each month. Or every 3rd Friday of the month between a certain window of time.
