An error occurred while saving the comment You can ask Google to remove or increase the limit. If you have too many VPCs and you aren't running Shared VPCs or VPC Network peering, you probably should be. Another option is Cloud Router, in which case you can build your own topology or use routing protocols like BGP which can help with more efficient network paths and routes.

An error occurred while saving the comment All of the actual customer discussions I have had were met by BYOC versus BYOK. The challenge with BYOK implementations is that the customer, per Ted's comment, do not want the provider to have the key at all. This is impossible with a fully managed service versus a self-managed service. With these implementations (fully managed) the provider must have the key to be able to decrypt a backup and restore a service.

When the region is down (cannot connect to it) the failover should occur. The customer needs to be able to control the fallback to the other region. This should happen after the rebuild completed.
