  2. Support exactly-once semantics when connecting Kafka to ClickHouse

    As a developer using Kafka to stream messages to ClickHouse,
    I want to be sure that messages as delivered and ingested exactly once, as opposed to at-least-once, to ClickHouse to not have to deal with duplicated data that I have to deduplicate down the line. This removes both a cognitive and operational load from my data pipeline

    The exactly-once semantics has been implemented in the newer version of the ClickHouse Kafka Connect Sink (https://github.com/ClickHouse/clickhouse-kafka-connect).

  3. Add support for the DeltaLake Engine to ClickHouse

    As a customer of Aiven, I would like to pull data from many disparate sources into my ClickHouse data warehouse to provide my users best-in-class analytics and performance. Adding support for DeltaLake would open up new sources from which I can seamlessly consume from.

  4. Enable MySQL interface for Aiven for ClickHouse

    As an architect looking to evolve my current infrastructure,
    I want to be able to access ClickHouse using the MySQL wire protocol,
    so that I can ease my migration and integration with current critical systems using MySQL internally.

  5. Capability to insert external data

    As a ClickHouse user,
    I would like to be able to load gigabytes of data from a remote location,
    so that I can experiment and use ClickHouse with big amount of data I have.

  7. Increase the value of max_concurrent_queries

    As a developer against my Aiven for Clickhouse instance,
    I would like to increase the value of maxconcurrentqueries,
    to facilitate the query pattern of my existing workload.

    We have increased the number of concurrent connections, in ratio with the memory available, to retain stability, with 100 concurrent queries for each 16GiB of RAM, with a minimum of 100.
    This doesn’t change hobbyist, startup-16, business-16 or premium-Nx-16 but increases the value for the larger node sizes with 32GiB or 64GiB or RAM.

  8. Support User defined functions (UDFs) in Aiven for ClickHouse

    As a developer,
    I want to be able to extend the behavior of ClickHouse by creating lambda expressions that can utilize SQL constructs and functions that can be used like any in-built function in a query. I want to be able to do so with the command "CREATE FUNCTION"

  9. Parquet Support for Kafka <> Clickhouse Native Integration

    As a developer I want the Kafka - Clickhouse native integration to support Parquet format. This will simplify our set-up and allow us to remove a part of the architecture.

  10. Support dictionaries in Aiven for ClickHouse

    As as user of Aiven for ClickHouse,
    In some cases, I want to have an alternative to JOIN statements that is faster and less resource heavy. For this, I want to create a dictionary of key-attributes that can be used in queries.
    I also want to be able to work on my dictionary with all the related ClickHouse functions (c.f. https://clickhouse.com/docs/en/sql-reference/functions/ext-dict-functions)

  11. Support AvroConfluent format in Clickhouse

    As a user of Clickhouse and Kafka,

    I want the Aiven for Clickhouse service to support the AvroConfluent format,

    so that I can use a Schema Registry to read Avro-encoded Kafka messages where the schema is stored in a schema registry.

  12. Integration with external Datadog

    As a business running Aiven for Clickhouse,
    I want to have an integration so I can send metrics to an external Datadog instance,
    so that my instance can be monitored by my team using the tool we use for all our other systems.

    This would also enable me to keep my alerting and monitoring simple and consistent.
