An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for raising the comment Daniel. as this is more of a general comment on OpenSearch, I will shelve this.
OpenSearch project is developed with the intention of becoming a not just a best Search tool, but also a general database that is built for performant, resilient, cost effective and scalability. Observability, SIEM as well as many Search capabilities are the three main use cases of OpenSearch and it will definitely get better over time.

An error occurred while saving the comment This is something that I believe will get better overtime as OpenSearch gets adopted more in SIEM use cases or any other use cases. I believe this is something driven by community and will be available as docs/ blog post/ tutorials.
For SIEM, one example can be this https://opensearch.org/events/opensearchcon/sessions/experience-building-a-siem-with-opensearch.html but I understand it is still on a very high level

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks for the ideas, this is a valid idea that worth considering for us. Atm, running some intermediary steps (fluentbit -> data prepper) or some sort seems to be the only method.

An error occurred while saving the comment Thanks Maxime for the response. Fiddling with additional properties might not be as efficient as I would hope. I am wondering if you have trouble finding the correct configuration to set this up? We can figure out ways to ease out this process and make this efficient

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Hernan, thanks for posting this idea. We are actually in the process to implement a new alternative metrics database services replacing InfluxDB that is Prometheus compatible. Also, the Otel community is exploring ways to support exporting Otel metrics to Prometheus, which further enhances the compatibility of this new service to Otel metrics protocol.
Because of this reason, unfortunately, we have to park this idea for now as we are focusing on this new service and this service will come with all Metrics, Metrics integration as with other current Aiven products.
